We transfer VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, Video8, Hi8, Digital8 and Mini DV cassettes to MP4 files that play on a phone, TV or laptop. You drop the tapes into a parcel locker anywhere in Latvia; we capture them in our own lab in Tallinn.

How to order
Three steps, no trip to Estonia
The whole order runs remotely. We confirm each step with you by email before anything happens.

Use the form or email us with the number of tapes and their formats. We reply with exact information, the price and shipping instructions, including the parcel locker address in Tallinn.

Drop the tapes in a parcel locker
Pack the cassettes in a small box and send them from your nearest locker in Latvia to the Tallinn locker we give you. Transit is usually 1–2 working days.

Receive your digital files
Within 10–14 working days you get MP4 files via a Google Drive link or on a USB stick. We post the tapes back if you wish and invoice you once the work is done.

Why now
Tape ages on the shelf, whether you watch it or not
A video cassette holds the picture as a faint magnetic signal. Over the years the binder that keeps the magnetic layer on the tape breaks down: colours fade, hiss creeps into the sound and an old VCR can chew the tape outright. Most home recordings kept in Latvia are now 25 to 40 years old.
Digitization stops the clock. The recording becomes a file you can copy without loss, share with relatives and keep in more than one place.
We play every tape on serviced decks and camcorders, check each recording, and repair damaged cassettes before capture.

Questions we hear most
What is the best way to send tapes from Latvia to Tallinn?
A parcel locker shipment with Omniva, SmartPosti or DPD Pickup. Each delivers from a Latvian locker to a Tallinn locker in 1–2 working days, typically for €5–9 per parcel. We send the locker address and packing advice in reply to your request.
My cassette is damaged or the tape has snapped. Can you still help?
Yes, send it as it is. We restore and repair cassettes: splicing snapped tape, moving the tape into a new shell or freeing a jammed mechanism. A repair costs €9 per cassette and is only done after you agree.
How do I pay?
By invoice, issued either to a private person or to a company. You know the amount in advance because we confirm the price before starting.
How long does it take?
Usually 10–14 working days after the parcel arrives in Tallinn. For large archives we agree a schedule individually.
What file format will I get?
MP4, which opens on phones, computers and smart TVs, delivered via a Google Drive link or on a USB stick. For Mini DV and Digital8 we can also supply the original DV files on request.
Do I get my cassettes back?
Yes, if you want them. We post them back or send them to a parcel locker, or you can collect them from our Tallinn office. We agree the return method up front.
